The Lobby at Auragens
As Auragens continues to help our patients by leading with our cutting-edge science and expert precision medicine, we never lose sight of opportunities to make our treatments more available to all who will benefit.
With that in mind we watch closely the evolving landscape of healthcare, not only from a clinical and research standpoint, but also the industry as a whole and specifically to how it is being handled in the United States.
With a Presidential election looming there are few issues that all Americans can agree on. But one uniting topic and belief is that our healthcare should and can be better. A loaded topic with many nuances Auragens is going to focus on one aspect.
With the top ranked medical schools, best equipment, and world leading innovation, the United States should be leading the world in every metric. Yet, it often falls short and the largest complaint stems from the costs associated. On average an American citizen spends $13,000 per year on medical. And our outcomes place the U.S. well short of the expected results when compared with cost. The culture of sick care, or treating patients once they are already unwell, as opposed to preventive medicine and helping a person remain healthy, or true healthcare, has placed a large financial burden on both taxpayers and corporations.
If the U.S. were able to encourage its populace to remain healthy, the overall costs of chronic illness will decline. And many of the financial constraints would wane. As we think about this the approach closely mirrors the growing wellness movement towards personal responsibility to your own health. From what foods are consumed to regular workout routines we have seen people’s attitudes shift in order to be more proactive with their health. Wearable technologies, health spas, health influencers, and greater discussions about what each individual does to feel their best have become much more common. One can feel it but also it is reflected in obvious places as well such as the iPhone 16 now coming preloaded to help track better sleeping patterns.
Knowing that a healthy population is key to the financial health of a country, Auragens has been working to create a path to encourage these best behaviors. So, we have a proposal. We have shared with legislators and lobbyists but ultimately, changes, revolutionary changes, come when a majority of the population comes together. So, we shall start here with this newsletter.
