Team USA Wins Gold at Paris 2024
The Olympics are an incredible platform that brings the world’s focus together to cheer and support each nation’s athletes performing at the highest level. Once every four year we all gather in wonder as these incredible focused, elite athletes, perform feats that leave the rest of us astonished and amazed. We, at Auragens, are no different as our admiration for the dedication it has taken each person to reach these levels has required, inspires us.
At Auragens we also have a unique and particular interest as we treat some of the Olympians and see firsthand the rigors of training and the physical constraints they must overcome. Inspired by the USA women’s gymnastics team, here we want to share a treatment case study is specific to the chronic stress their events cause, our success and evidence in treating, and the availability to all who also must face this issue on a day-to-day basis. Because whether you are competing for a gold in Paris or just trying to enjoy a better quality of life with you kids or grandkids, relief is available.
Chronic Lumbar Pain
Auragens recently published its findings in the Journal of Stem Cell Research demonstrating our success in treating Chronic Lumbar Pain (also commonly known as, lower back pain) typically associated with discopathy and facet arthropathy, among other conditions. Led by Dr. Christian Diaz, Medical Director, Auragens Clinical Program, and supported by the Auragens Clinical and Scientific teams, we were able to show tremendous results across our patient outcomes.
As all who deal with chronic lumbar pain can attest, the discomfort and ongoing pain impacts every aspect of life from sleep, work efficiencies, leisure activities, and if in the life of an elite athlete, it can mean the end of a career. And we see firsthand how the physical discomfort leads to mental distress and interpersonal issues as a person becomes desperate for relief. Until now the two paths most take have been:
1️⃣ Interventional Procedures:
-
-
Injections: Corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation or nerve block injections to target specific areas of pain.
-
Radiofrequency ablation: Using heat to disrupt nerve function and reduce pain.
-
Spinal cord stimulation: Implanting a device that sends electrical impulses to the spinal cord to reduce pain perception.
-
2️⃣ Surgical Options:
-
-
Discectomy: Removing a herniated disc that is pressing on a nerve.
-
Spinal fusion: Fusing two or more vertebrae to reduce pain from movement.
-
Laminectomy: Removing part of the vertebra to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.
